The Tale of Mango Tree and Lemon Tree: A Lesson in Humility and Cooperation

Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a Mango tree and a Lemon tree beside each other. Both trees were proud of their leaves and often argued about which one was better. Mango leaves were large and broad, while Lemon leaves were small and slim. The Mango tree boasted about its leaves, saying they were the most beautiful leaves in the entire forest, while the Lemon tree boasted that its leaves were much more useful than the Mango leaves.

One day, the Mango leaves challenged the Lemon leaves to prove that they were better. The Lemon leaves accepted the challenge and said, “Let’s see who can provide the most shade and who can provide the most fruit.”

The Mango tree was confident that it would win the competition as its leaves were bigger and broader than the Lemon leaves. The Lemon tree, on the other hand, was confident that it would win because it produced more fruit than the Mango tree.

The competition began, and the Mango tree provided shade, and the Lemon tree provided fruit. The Mango tree provided lots of shade, but the Lemon tree produced many fruits. The animals of the forest would often visit the Lemon tree to pick the juicy fruits.

One day, the Mango tree had a conversation with the Lemon tree and said, “I was wrong to be boastful, and I learned my lesson. I was so proud of my leaves that I forgot that they were not just for show, but they also provided shade and shelter for the animals of the forest. I am sorry for my behavior and attitude.”

The Lemon tree was happy to hear this and forgave the Mango tree. From that day on, the Mango tree and the Lemon tree lived peacefully, side by side, and worked together to provide shade and fruits to the animals of the forest.

The moral of the story is that it’s wrong to be proud and boastful. One should learn to appreciate what they have and work together with others to achieve a common goal.
